Sistema Impresa Responsabile Regione Marche - Responsible Company System in Le Marche Region

The Responsible Company System in Le Marche Region (SIRM) project was launched in 2005 by the “Le Marche” regional government in collaboration with the Sustainable Development Group of Ethical Development Institute (ISE). Its main objective is to promote a CSR culture amongst the companies of the region, improving their competitiveness and dynamism at the same time.

For the region, this project is a useful instrument for bringing together the efforts of different stakeholders such as government, companies, civil society organizations. In this sense, SIRM facilitates the multistakeholder dialogue; allows a correct measure and management of social risks; encourages the implementation of CSR corporate policies; supports promotion of equal opportunities; and builds more trust and better reputation of businesses among the society.

SIRM has the following three axis of action: CSR promotion focused on specific innovative solutions that are useful for capitalizing on the existing expertise; Training on distinctive skills that enable not only the awareness raising of the companies but also their involvement in the implementation of CSR practices; and Results dissemination with the aim to enforce CSR in the region. These three actions are the base of the following 5 stages in what the project is divided in:

  1. Research and development of a methodology which could enable to promote CSR in an innovative way.
  2. Training of Ethical and Social auditors
  3. Pilot phase: Methodology testing amongst a sample of companies
  4. Methodology implementation
  5. Mainstreaming of SIRM and widespread of the obtained results
