CSR-Vision

The CSR vision in Tuscany relates specifically to the implementation of SA8000 certification by companies. This certification is promoted, as it is the only standard available that can assure the observance of human rights. The region is also working on promoting a European standard similar to SA8000. This standard would be more focussed on the European economy and its SME’s. As part of its vision the region is also seeking to strengthen its CSR profile by participating in regional and national CSR initiatives.

Political powers

The regional government of Tuscany has powers over subjects related to CSR in fields such as Economy, education, environment, social affairs, employment and local government.

The Regione Toscana is a territorial body representative of the regional collectivity. The regional institution was founded in 1970 as an autonomous body with its own functions and powers. The Region is devised by the Italian constitution as a tool to decentralise the power, to strengthen democracy and to promote local autonomy. The Region guarantees the participation
of all citizens to the realisation of its goals.
